Role Overview

Banda Group International, LLC (BGI) is currently accepting applications for a Quality Control Engineer to support the Albuquerque, NM Western Region Office. This position will be primarily based in the field.

The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for all jobsite personnel to ensure compliance with the quality control requirements of the project. This includes the coordination of the quality control efforts of the client’s team, subcontractors, and suppliers to correspond with the overall Quality Control Plan.

The Quality Control Engineer should be technically experienced and capable of comprehending the specifications, standards, and code requirements for all construction disciplines.

Projects are primarily located within the BGI Western Region of the United States. The ideal candidate will be a team-player with the ability to support a wide range of projects both in a field and office setting, must have excellent written and communication and computer skills.  

Key Responsibilities

Implement site-specific quality control plans.
Review and maintain Quality Process Log.
Be fully aware of the contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes.
Perform daily field inspections to verify contractor’s work complies with the project specifications and applicable codes.
Review potential discrepancy reports, track discrepancies, and verify corrective actions prior to closure.
Direct the removal and replacement of non-conforming work and stop work not in compliance with the contract.
Review the Subcontractors Quality Control Daily Logs.
Receive subcontractor test and inspection requests and produce a coordinated Daily Test and Inspection Schedule.
Audit subcontractor quality control procedures.
Document and submit a Daily Report of Quality Control activity.
Actively participate in the Work Completion Tagging Process, In-house Punch List Process, and the Pre-Final Punch List Process to document deficient items in the field.
Perform material inspections to verify that the products are to specifications and that storage, staging and material handling methods are implemented.
Coordinate offsite equipment source inspections.
Submit and review RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
The position is approximately 100% field work on industrial, commercial, and federal sites.
Will travel to projects sites.  Overnight travel may be required.

 

Role Requirements

Minimum of 15 years of related experience in construction.
Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment.
Effectively articulates issues, facilitates their resolution and presents results verbally and in writing to multiple levels in the organization.
Ability to quickly adapt into a new organization and make immediate impact through a positive and proactive nature, high energy level and credible experience.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, be goal and performance oriented and be able to set priorities, establish work plans and provide specific management feedback.
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving policy.
Valid driver’s license.
