Job Description

Banda Group International, LLC (BGI) is currently accepting applications for a Business Development (BD) Professional to conduct business development activities for our Eastern Region. The position is full-time and based in our Oak Ridge, TN office. The BD Professional will be charged with generating new business contacts, opportunities, and revenue for BGI’s Eastern Region in our existing market sectors.  

The BD Professional will be integrated into the BGI Team and will work closely with the Senior BD Manager. Working independently and within team setting is required. To assist in developing and growing BGI, this position is required to gather market intelligence, identify business opportunities, pitch services to new and former clients, maintain a good working relationship with all departments within BGI, and maximize BGI’s business reach and potential. Technical and project-related billable duties may be incorporated into this position, as needed.

The ideal candidate will be integrated into the Oak Ridge/Knoxville market and have B2G experience particularly with the U.S. Department of Energy, Tennessee Valley Authority, Veteran’s Administration, or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow industry trends regionally and across the US, with specific emphasis on established BGI market sectors and service lines. 
  • Understand BGI projects, sectors, and markets, current and historical. Have an in-depth knowledge of our value proposition.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of growth strategies/plans.
  • Assist in developing strategic teaming partnerships. 
  • Identify target business opportunities and complete research on prospective client’s business needs. 
  • Develop, manage, and retain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate and craft winning responses to federal, state, and commercial procurement opportunities. This includes requests for quotes, request for information, and requests for proposals.
  • Develop polished, BGI-branded proposals, bid materials, presentations, web content, and marketing materials.
  • Represent BGI at industry networking and marketing events.
  • Perform project work in one of BGI’s primary services lines: Health & Safety, Environmental Characterization & Remediation, and Construction Management & Oversight, as needed.
  • Travel as needed for participation in meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Environmental Scientist – Los Alamos, NM

Job Description

Banda Group International, LLC (BGI) is currently accepting applications for a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to support the Albuquerque, NM Western Region Office. This individual will require both field  (-90%) and office (-10%) work. Field work is in a high desert climate in variable weather conditions and terrains. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has excellent written, verbal communication, and computer skills.

Key Responsibilities

Field activities include but are not limited to:

  1. Material (soil, sediment, rock), water, and or vapor sampling activities and documentation
  2. Site remediation observation and documentation.
  3. Conducting visual site inspections.
  4. Conducting field maintenance of existing surface and subsurface monitoring stations.
  5. Participating in daily tailgate safety meetings.

Office activities include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintenance, quality assurance, analysis, and interpretation of data.
  2. Assistance with the preparation of reports and technical documents associated with field sampling and other field related tasks, including generation of data tables, graphs, and figures.
  3. Preparation, submission, and updating documents required for field work.
  4. Quality assurance of data tables, charts, and figures.

May conduct map preparation, field mapping, routine scientific calculations, and utilize computer programs for daily activities and reports.

Will follow company safety standards, participate in safety training, and assist in preparation and implementation of environmental, health, and safety plans.

Role Requirements

BS or MS in Environmental Science or related technical degree.

0 – 5 years + environmental or field experience.

40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA Training desired.

Proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel. AutoCAD and GIS experience is a plus. Computer programming and troubleshooting experience is a plus.

Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to safety, quality, detail, and strong time management capabilities required.

Will be required to lift equipment and carry laboratory samples/equipment which may weigh up to 40 pounds.

Ability and willingness to work in a high-desert field setting with the potential to work in adverse weather conditions. The field environment will require, but not be limited to, excessive walking/hiking, standing, bending, kneeling, and sitting.

May be required to work a flexible schedule to meet project requirements or deadlines.

Ability to obtain access to Federal Facilities or security clearance, if needed.

Experience from Federal and/or Los Alamos-based environmental projects is a plus.

Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving policy.

Job Description

Banda Group International is seeking out a Project Manager who will report directly to the Program Manager and support project employees. This role would work directly with clients to ensure all project deliverables fall within the applicable scope, schedule, and budget. Typically, only manages a single project, but may be asked to manage several small or quarterly projects at a time. Supervises project support staff. Facilitates coordination with other BGI departments and project managers to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Works with the program manager to hire and develop new and existing talent as needed to fulfill client needs.

  • Exceptional time management and analytical skills

  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is a plus

Job Description

Banda Group International, LLC (BGI) is currently accepting applications for experienced Equipment Operator position based in BGI Los Alamos, NM office. 

Under general supervision, operates various equipment including excavators, graders, backhoes, front end loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks. May also include forklifts, telehandlers, and skid steers. The selected candidate may also be required to perform environmental sampling and surveillance operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on light and heavy equipment.
  • Operation of the following equipment:
    • Excavator
    • Graders
    • Backhoe
    • Front end loaders
    • Water truck
    • Dump trucks
    • Forklifts
    • Telehandlers
    • Skid steers
    • Operates various small and hand-held equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and other related assignments.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs other miscellaneous project-related duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
    • General site surveillance and walkdowns
    • Sample equipment preparation and troubleshooting
    • Assisting the sampling team lead in material, water, or vapor sampling.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience directly related to the equipment operator duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to operate light and heavy equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to environmental remediation and construction projects.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including, but not limited to, tire pressure, checking fluids and, water levels.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge on a project-by-project basis.
  • Basic knowledge of material, water, and vapor sampling a plus.
  • United States Citizen.

Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving policy.

Experience working and operating equipment at Federal sites and/or Los Alamos is a plus.
