Director of Security
Chris Kurtzhals is the Director of Security overseeing BGI’s corporate security, team leadership and security planning. Mr. Kurtzhals develops and implements programs and standard operating procedures to protect employees and create safe and complaint work environments for BGI and client projects. Mr. Kurtzhals has more than 30 years of experience in military/civilian police and corporate security, with emphasis in national/corporate security and anti-terrorism in the US and International locations. He has initiated and developed a hijacking response policy for Continental Airlines and their South Pacific based flight crews. He organized and managed in-house training programs fulfilling POST requirements for officers and coordinated with tactical associations and government institutions to provide free training to officers and staff impacting $20,000 cost savings for training while limiting liability risk. Mr. Kurtzhals spearheaded a grant proposal to the Department of Homeland Security, obtaining funds for a 1300 square foot simulation shoot house used by Police, Fire, and EMS. He reorganized a poorly trained, poorly equipped, non-operational SWAT team, re-allocated the budget -bringing in outside trainers and developed training criteria conforming to higher training standards resulting in $30,000 worth of new updated weapons and equipment and maintain a fully operational 12-man SWAT team all certified by national instructors. He developed a Corporate Security Policy for North American manufacturing and corporate office facilities and created one security umbrella to leverage all resources into a consistent method of security operations to have a foundation to build the security policy into a global security policy which Published in the Global Security Operations Manual.
