Los Alamos, NM: Banda Group International, LLC (BGI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, has been awarded a $20M Master Service Agreement (MSA) by Newport News Nuclear BWXT – Los Alamos (N3B) to support N3B’s Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract. N3B implements the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, Los Alamos Field Office. BGI will be providing N3B with Environmental Remediation support to meet cleanup milestones and deliverables at LANL. BGI has an established presence in Los Alamos and has a proven track record supporting N3B.
“BGI is thrilled to receive this award to continue supporting N3B’s cleanup initiatives,” said Zef Banda, BGI President & CEO. “Our team has worked diligently, in partnership with N3B, over the last 18 months to support their mission, and we look forward to continuing that partnership under this contract.”
BGI received their first MSA from N3B in May of 2020. Through that contracting vehicle, BGI has successfully executed six task orders totaling $4.5M. The most notable is the $3.3M task order to characterize and remediate the Middle DP Road site where BGI and N3B have excavated 3,323 cubic yards of contaminated materials — the equivalent of more than 12,202 55-gallon drums.
The base period of performance for the new MSA is November 2021 through April 2023. Work will be administered through the issuance of independent task orders tailored to environmental restoration work.
