BGI Joins Second ISO Project Committee U.S. Technical Advisory Group

06/03/2016

In May 2016 BGI joined the second ISO Project committee U.S. Technical Advisory Group.

Banda Group International, LLC (BGI) is now part the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Project Committee (PC) 302, for the revision of ISO 19011 (Guidelines for auditing management systems). This is the standard auditors use to assess organizational conformity to ISO Management Standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems), all of which are written using ISO’s new “Annex SL High Level Structure”. BGI’s interest in serving on U.S. TAG 302 stems from the work we have already been doing with the U.S. TAG to PC 283 for development of ISO 45001. The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) is the administrator for U.S. TAG 283, and the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is the Administrator of U.S. TAG 302.

“Being a World Class Organization means more to us than just following industry best practices and helping our clients achieve the same. It also means taking an active role in serving the international community to communicate and improve upon those best practices. By being part of the TAG's that provide input to the development of both the management and the auditing standards, we are able to provide keen insight and perspective to both ISO and our clients.”, Explained Patrick C. White, CSHM, CSP; Corporate Quality/EHS Manager. Mr. White serves as BGI’s Primary Representative to both TAG groups.

BGI maintains a tradition of having subject matter experts volunteering for various professional organizations and supporting professional development conferences. Jack Norray, CSP, CHST, Construction Safety Manager and Karina Santolaja, EHS Consultant are now assisting in our efforts to support specific ISO initiatives. Mr. Norray will be assuming the role of Alternate Representative on the TAG for PC 283, and Ms. Santolaja will be the Alternate Representative for TAG PC 302. The contributions the entire team is making to these TAG groups will be pivotal and beneficial to BGI and our valued clients.
