EHS Program Management: Transportation Security Administration

Location: South Central and Western U.S

BGI provided Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Specialists as full-time resources and technical experts for a Prime Contractor. The mission supports the Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration’s Office of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE).  OSHE has oversight responsibility for all occupational safety and health activities within TSA promoting a “Culture of Safety.”  BGI is responsible for domestic U.S. airports and field locations in the south central and western U.S. serving as an extension of OSHE by providing technical services in consultation and collaboration with the office.

Support services provided to the Prime Contractor include:

  • Program development, evaluation and implementation
  • Baseline and on-going job hazard analyses of all work area processes and emerging technologies
  • Training development, evaluation and instruction
  • Communication and Outreach
  • Formal safety health inspection of TSA sites
  • Investigation and tracking of corrective actions
  • Completion and refinement of information retained in OSHE’s safety and health operations database
